Creed

We believe in one God (Deu. 6:4, 1 Cor. 6:8, 1 Tim. 2:5).

We believe in the Father, the maker of heaven and earth (Isa. 40:28, Isa. 43:15), holy and just above all (Lev. 11:44, Rev. 4:8, Rev. 16:7), eternal and all-knowing (Psalm 90:2, Rev. 1:8, Isa. 46:9-10).

We believe in that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16, 1 John 4:9), conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Matt. 1:18, Luke 1:27, 35). He lived as fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 1:14, Heb. 13:8, Luke 2:52), then to died upon a Cross (Mat 27:50, Luke 23:46), only to rise again in three days (John 20:27, Luke 24:6-7). He ascended into Heaven (Luke 21:54). He now acts as a mediator between us and God, keeping the faithful secure in his prayers (Heb 7:25). He will return to judge all men, alive and dead, and rule forever (1 Peter 4:5, Matt. 24:30, Rev. 19:11-16).

We believe in the Holy Spirit, sent as a witness (Johm 15:26), guide and helper (Johm 14:16-18), whose leadings can keep us in righteousness (Rom. 8:9-14). The Spirit convicts the world of sin and guides them to truth (John 16:7-13, 2Co 3:6).

We believe in Father (John 8:54, 1 Cor. 1:3, 1 Cor. 8:6), Son (Isa. 9:6, John 8:58) and Spirit (Acts 5:3-4, 2 Cor. 3:17–18): one God in three persons (Deu. 6:4, 2 Cor. 13:14).

We believe that the Bible is the unerring Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17, Psalm 19:7-10), written by men but guided by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet 1:20-21). I believe it is crucial for life, for guidance, for reproof, and for holiness (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

We believe that the first man, Adam, sinned, and in sin brought death into the world (Gen. 1:26-27, Rom. 5:12). In His holiness and justice, God cannot allow sin, which is lawlessness (1 John 3:4) and open rebellion against God (Psalm 107:11, Neh. 9:17, 9:26-27, Deu. 9:23), to go unpunished (Exo. 34:7, Nah. 1:3). The only rightful punishment for sin is death (Heb. 9:22, Rom. 6:23).

We believe that we have all sinned (Rom. 3:23), and we all deserve death for our sins (Rom. 6:23). But when Jesus died upon the Cross while sinless Himself (Heb. 4:15), He took our sins upon Himself to sate the righteous judgment of God (Isa. 53:6, 1 John 3:5, 1 Peter 3:18). If we repent and believe in the sacrifice of Jesus (Acts 17:30, Luke 13:3, John 20:31), His Blood will be accepted as payment for our sin (Eph. 1:7, 1 Pet. 1:18-19, 1 John 1:7, Eph. 1:7-10). Jesus becomes a mediator between us and the Father (1 Tim. 2:5). Our sin is paid by Him, and His righteousness will be imputed to us (2 Cor. 5:21).

We believe that when we confess and take on the righteousness of Jesus, then the Holy Spirit will indwell us (Rom. 8:9-11, Acts 2:38-39). This salvation comes in faith alone, for it is not something we can earn with works (Eph. 2:8-10).

We believe that those who repent will find eternal fellowship with God (John 6:47, 1 John 5:11-13, Rom. 6:23). Those who do not will take on the punishment for their own sin and find eternal death (Matt. 25:46, 2 Thess. 1:9, Rev. 20:15).

But God would have us come to repentance and be saved (2 Peter 3:9). He does not desire that you should flee from Him in sin. In order to redeem His people, He sent His Son. On our own, we have no way to free ourselves from the bondage of sin. As fallen men, spiritual things are nonsensical to us (1 Cor. 2:14), we do not seek God (Rom. 3:10-13), because we are spiritual slaves to sin (Eph. 2:1-5, Rom. 6:16-18). We have all sinned, and we all deserve to be punished by death. But out of His great love for us, God has provided the price for our sin in the Blood of His Son. He moves us by His Spirit to repent and believe.

God does not send people to hell. People choose that themselves. God has provided a way for us to return to Him. But it is not something we can earn. It is only though Jesus that we can be saved (John 14:6). There is no other way to life. Turn away from your sin and believe in Him who can save you. It is a free gift from God, and it is a gift that has no end.
