Names, Part II
by Paul Lytle
O terrible Master, just, unchanging Lord:
surely there is none who dares to meet
the surety and truth of Your swift Word.
What man can claim be worthy to wash Your feet?
Almighty Lord, and so You prove the title.
So Holy that we must avert our gaze;
Your glory shines, Your majesty unbridled.
Your purity remains fore’er ablaze.
I AM WHO I AM; what more can now be said?
You are the Author of earth, moon, and stars,
and nothing is or can be, live or dead,
except by You. Above it all, You are.
Such names You do possess, and earn them each.
I am unworthy, yet still toward me You reach.
